Hotels

Competitors wishing to have additional rooms for the Rocky Mountain Vintage or single occupancy: We have negotiated a rally price for Cheyenne Mountain Lodge for competitors wishing to arrive early or extend their stay. For more details, please contact Taylor Still (taylor@pioneerrallyco pany.com). He is happy to make all the arrangements. The Rocky Mountain Vintage 2025 registration fees cover all crews and their hotel rooms from the night of September 7th to the morning of September 12th; anyone wishing to extend their stays, please contact Taylor Still as soon as possible, as the additional night of the 12th of September is filling up fast! Update on vehicle drop off and collection at the Cheyenne Mountain Lodge: Participants are welcome to use the Cheyenne Mountain Lodge for their shipping/haulage companies overnight. Drop off vehicles on the 6th or early on the 7th of September in the hotel’s cordoned off area. Collection after the event on the 11th or 12th of September is also welcome. Please note that there is plenty of unloading/loading room either in the upper car lot or the service road just outside the hotel reception area. Cheyenne Mountain Lodge is also supplying us with a gravel parking lot (lower hotel lot) for those who haul their vehicles to the event and want storage for the duration of the event. We will provide updates about key locations and other instructions as we get closer to the date. If you have additional questions, please contact PRC

A New Class Added- Read All About It!

A new class for the Rocky Mountain Vintage
2025 has been confirmed and will be an
ongoing class for future events. It is apparent
that people are interested in a noncompetitive version of the event, so we are
introducing the Pioneer Class sponsored by
Classic 200. This class will traverse the entire
route but will not be timed in the regularity
sections or at the test venues. This class will
also not be restricted to the vehicle age
categories in the Rules and Regulations; it
would be recommended that a simple GPS
trip meter app be installed on a mobile phone
or tablet for route purposes. This class falls
outside of the overall and other class awards,
but it allows people to sample endurance
rallying without the strict timing schedules.
Likely, these participants will only be
governed by a daily schedule, leaving the
hotel in the morning, lunch timings, and the
Main Time Control at the end of the day.
Pioneer Class entrants are still eligible for
finishers’ awards and will be very much a part
of the event. Pioneer Class entrants may
choose to formulate their route between
hotels, but if alternative routes are chosen,
they are unlikely to have the mechanical
assistance crews follow behind when they do
this. They will, however, have an option to
utilize the mechanical assistance crews at the
hotels and lunch venues should mechanical
issues arise.
We are adding this additional class to
promote the sport in the USA. This class is not
to be used to enter private support vehicles
for main competitors, and this will be
monitored to ensure fairness for main class
competitors. More information regarding the
Pioneer Class is available on the website.

OtherPioneer News:

Pioneer Rally Company has been very lucky to
secure the services of Andy Manston of M&H
Photography to cover the event. Andy has
been a rally photographer for over 30 years,
and it’s a privilege to have that wealth of
knowledge and expertise join our inaugural
event.

The PRC website has been further updated to
include new classes, membership, more
information regarding future events, and
general information as the endurance rallies
gain interest here in the USA.

We at Pioneer want to wish Rocky Mountain
crews Jeff Urbina and Chris Pike all the very
best of luck as they travel to Ireland in May to
contest the Shamrock Rally. Good luck, guys!
They are competing against many seasoned
competitors, including friends of Pioneer Rally
Company, Tim Eades and Jim Mclaren. We
shall be watching the results closely and
cheering you on from afar!
Commiserations to Martin Brauns whose
vehicle suffered damage during the recent
California Mille. Fortunately, there were no
injuries, and the damage caused by a noncompetitor is minor — repairs are planned,
and the car will be back on the road in no
time.

Day 2 of the Rocky Mountain Vintage:

Exciting news from our Day 2 hotel: Pagosa Springs Resort recently produced a stunning video of the state-of-the-art renovations and additions they’ve made at this one-of-akind hotel. We are lucky to be some of the first people to sample the new pools that
should be finished just in time for our arrival! Enjoy.

Day 4 of the Rocky Mountain Vintage:

What a treat we have in store! Taking a route almost directly south, we head over the picturesque and quiet Guanella Pass, traveling through Georgetown where you will find mules and donkeys lining the streets and frequenting the pubs. During the winter months, Georgetown Lake to the east is a mecca for ice racing specialists, one of our recent entrants now has the accolade of holding the record on the ice route. On our journey south, we may enjoy some culinary delights at a messy bovine establishment; Taylor was particularly taken with the cherry pie that was offered!

The Team Hard at Work:

Jamie is currently in the UK dealing with Visa processes but is contacting our overseas participants and drumming up some interest from other parties who are readying themselves for the 2026 program of events. He is also working hard to prepare his Peking to Paris 1959 Morris for transport to the USA, so there may be more cars available for rent at the 2026 events. More information as this comes in.
Taylor is hard at work with advertising and communicating with the hotels and other
establishments on the route, sorting out requested additional rooming not just for
competitors but for additional interested parties, including some members of the animal
kingdom! Taylor will surely get the tails wagging with the best possible accommodation
for our furry friends.
Nelson and his merry band of mechanics are hard at work. The Ford F150 is being kitted out with all the necessary equipment, tools, and various nuts, bolts, fasteners, and fixings to ensure these classics are well tended to during the event — even the coffee machine requested by Danny Day is finding its way into the back of the truck. We have 3 separate trucks covering the event, filled with magicians and experience. We firmly believe the car parks on the route will be a hive of fun and joviality whilst the cars are being tended to. Sarah has now formed the scenic route for the Sunbelt Vintage 2026, and Judy is busying herself exploring unique hotels and food menus for this 11-day rally next spring. Some of the remarkable roads, scenery, and ancient formations will be breathtaking! Be sure to glance upwards at the Milky Way as the skies will be clear and promise a jawdropping view of the heavens. The event will start and finish at one of the top hotels Scottsdale, Arizona, has to offer. Death Valley, Route 66, unique railway hotels, and other delights are also to be expected. Mark your calendars for April 30, 2026, and keep checking updates on the website.
